Just got into Raysons in 2015 when I found a '67 SK. Always wanted a flatbottom and wanted to learn how to work on engines and such. Took the fall of 2015 to completely rebuild a Ford BB without a hull to put it in. Spring 2015 I found my boat. Needed new interior, motor mounts, wiring, stuffing boxes, and strut bushing. Fabbed my own interior using kirkey t bucket seats. Finally on the water memorial day weekend 2016! 30 minutes into the shakedown cruise and the tired old Velvet Drive 71 packs up. The Ford shredded the clutch plates and took the input shaft and shaft retaining piston as well.
Now its on to a new configuration. No more trannys for me!
