About Me
I come from a very old ski boat famiy. My grandparents spent most weekends from the 40's till 80's either at the river or Marine Stadium. Grandpa had Glen L kit boats, as he built them himself, and all were Studebaker powered. As a youngster, our family had a 67 wood deck Raysoncraft. That boat was sold in the early 80's as the family grew. About 12 years ago, my parents bought a 64 Stevens flat with an FE. About a year after that, I bought my ORIGINAL 66 Raysoncraft. It came less the side oiler 427 Ford as the moron that had it saw the value of just the motor. All of the gel and flake is completely untouched and is in great shape. It still has the fiberglass and flaked engine cover, which is now on it since this photo. The interior was redone, but still has the original twin blue stewart warner gauges. I am more of a traditionalist, so the boat will never be redone as it has way more character as it is. I have great respect for originality in these old relics. Since this picture, I re-did the trailer, adding a new rear panel for 58 Chevy tail lights. I didn't care for those cheesy add on tail lights. It now has a 60's solid lifter BBC with as much vintage speed stuff as possible. Square top in and out Casale box with a 3 blade prop for go. Basically a basic classic family ski boat... |
